The Foldaway folding staircase is designed for situations where every centimeter of space matters. This innovative wall-mounted folding staircase provides a practical solution without compromising stability or comfort. After use, the staircase can be folded flat against the wall in one simple movement, leaving the floor area completely free.

This makes the Foldaway an excellent choice for Tiny Houses, studio apartments, loft conversions and other compact living spaces.

Thanks to the clever hinge mechanism, the staircase opens and folds smoothly. The stringer of the staircase also functions as a handrail, providing additional safety and support while climbing.

Perfect for compact living

The Foldaway staircase is specifically designed for homes where space efficiency is essential. When opened, the staircase offers a stable and comfortable climb. When folded, it sits neatly against the wall and occupies very little space.

The staircase is supplied as a demountable DIY kit, making it easy to transport and quick to assemble using the included installation instructions.

Depending on the floor height, the staircase requires an opening space of approximately 1.5 to 2 meters. Make sure this area remains clear to allow safe use of the staircase.

Custom made – Dutch craftsmanship

Every Foldaway staircase is custom manufactured in the Netherlands according to the required floor height. This ensures a cleaner design with fewer parts compared to many standard space-saving staircases.

The intelligent design makes installation straightforward and more user-friendly than many comparable stair systems. The staircase is delivered as a DIY kit, including all necessary components and clear assembly instructions.

Dimensions

The standard staircase width is 60 cm. If required, the staircase can also be produced in narrower versions, for example 50 cm, in increments of 5 cm.

Key dimensions:

• Tread depth: 18 cm

• Riser height: 23.5 – 26 cm depending on the total height

• Recommended minimum stair opening: 150 × 65 cm (L × W)

These proportions create a compact staircase that remains comfortable and practical to use.

Lightweight yet strong

The Foldaway staircase is made from high-quality European birch multiplex plywood. This material provides excellent strength while remaining lightweight, making the staircase easy to fold and handle.

Despite its lightweight construction, the staircase can support a maximum load of 140 kg.

The wood is supplied untreated, allowing you to finish it in the color or style that best suits your interior.

Finishing options

If preferred, the staircase can be delivered with a protective finish using Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C. This high-quality oil protects the wood and enhances its natural appearance.
