Do you want my Tiny house? I have to get rid of it. Unfortunately. But it’s a fun story! My name is Max Koedijk and under the name Stufistrijder I play a trading game to get rid of my student debt. The Tiny House? That is the result of trading 11x.
It all started two years ago when I heard from friends about the housing craze. I wondered which house I could buy. Out of curiosity, I filled in the mortgage calculator on Funda. The first time I forgot to fill in my student debt (of 60K). When I did, I was shocked. My borrowing capacity plummeted by no less than 120,000 euros. I had to do something about that. I had to get rid of that debt as soon as possible.
I was looking at a stuffed toy on my windowsill and suddenly an idea flashed through my mind. What if I could trade off my student debt? I took that toy to work and offered it to my boss, who was busy with an office move at the time. To my surprise, he agreed and gave me an old Mac Mini in exchange. And so began the rather epic series of trades. One adventure after another followed. I exchanged the Mac Mini for a phone worth 400 euros, I exchanged that phone for a cool motor scooter worth 1200 euros, and so it went on. Eventually I ended up with a fantastic Tiny House worth 35,000 euros. And that brings me to the present, where I get the chance to offer my Tiny House on this awesome platform TinyFindy.
I’m already sharing my story on Instagram and TikTok under the name Stufistrijder, and I’m overwhelmed with the positive response. Many followers ask me what it’s like to buy with a student debt, and I love inspiring and saving others from making the same mistakes I made. At 18 I made a few wrong choices and stuck my head in the sand. When I finally looked at my total debt on DUO, I was no less than 60,000 euros deeper into debt. The project has proven to be a success so far, although it does take some effort and a bit of luck. I actively search Marktplaats for good exchange opportunities, am active on social media and write to companies.
Now my beautiful Tiny House is ready to be traded for something of greater value and I know there are great trade opportunities out there! Maybe a Tesla, a cool camper, or even a nice bracelet. Everything is possible, as long as the value is higher than 35,000 euros. And when the goal is reached? Then I’m throwing a big party in Amsterdam! Everyone with a demonstrable student debt is welcome, and I provide great performances by artist friends. I will also transfer 60,000 euros to DUO live on a large screen.
