Come see with your own eyes how sustainability, affordability and quality come together in the new Tiny Eco Home showroom!

Ebru and René Verhagen are the driving forces behind Tiny Eco Home: a company that supplies Tiny Houses, lodges and modular homes. The company, based in Wemeldingen, strives to build as sustainably as possible, to offer the highest possible level of quality and to remain affordable. Finding the balance in this is a challenge that they gladly take on.
Decades of experience in the recreation industry
Ebru and René met in Istanbul, where René was a hotel manager. After a long career in international tourism, he ended up at a large recreation park chain and came into contact with the Tiny House movement.
If things need to be improved, sometimes you just have to do it yourself
However, the poor quality and long delivery times of the houses he had to deal with did not sit well with him. From this experience, the logical question was: why don’t we build Tiny Houses ourselves? And so it happened.
This sounds simple, but in practice it is of course more difficult. René: ‘We started working and encountered many things. You have to go through that. We have put together a team including a Dutch architect and we build with various manufacturers, according to our design and qualitative specifications, which can be viewed in our showroom.
Small homes with minimal ecological impact
Tiny Eco Home’s mission is to build as sustainably as possible. René: ‘If you put the house with the doors open in the forest, there should be nothing left after a hundred years. We haven’t gotten that far yet, but that is the aim. For example, it is difficult to find biobased alternatives to films and rubber. But we do our best and we continue to research new materials and techniques. Tiny Eco Homes consist largely of natural materials and, if possible, also recycled materials.’
At Tiny Eco Home, high quality is an important goal. For example, they make extensive use of solid wood, but also maritime plywood. As the name suggests, the latter is widely used in shipping and has several advantages: it is light in weight and damage such as scratches and dirt are easy to repair. The finish is also of high quality. You will not see any large seams in the Tiny Eco Home homes.
Replanting trees
By definition, Tiny Eco Home does not work with gas, but otherwise the customer is decisive. Kitchens are equipped with induction and every home has a pipe for solar panels as standard. They prefer to work with heat pumps and infrared underfloor heating. The company has been an EcoTree partner since 2023 and several trees are planted for every home they sell.
The Tiny Eco Home models, or your own design
You can go to Tiny Eco Home for a Tiny House, but also for an Eco Lodge or modular home. The Tiny Houses are built on a trailer like the classic houses, but with a modern twist. They have a living area of approximately 20 m2. The Eco Lodge is a larger house of around 45 to 70 m2 of living space. These are built prefab or on location and placed on a foundation.
An adaptable home for every phase of your life
‘Out of the box’ is Tiny Eco Home’s modular building system, which consists of modules of 3 x 3 meters and with which you can build any house you want. The modules can be connected and stacked, so you can use them in any direction and adapt your home to your phase of life. If you are a starter, you can get by with two modules. Are you moving in together or is there a little one on the way? Then you can easily add an extra module to create an additional bedroom or office. The other way around is of course also possible: if the children have left home and you want to live smaller again with less cleaning work, you can have one or more modules removed.
Would you rather have your own design?
All models can be customized to your liking, but you can also submit your own design. You can have your home delivered as a shell and finish it yourself or have it delivered completely turnkey. At Tiny Eco Home you also have complete freedom in choosing materials and installations. The delivery time varies per model and is on average twelve weeks.
Waar kun je Tiny Eco Home vinden?
Tiny Eco Home largely works ‘business to business’, such as housing for seasonal workers and flexible housing. They are also active in Germany. Two Tiny Houses will soon be placed in Goes, in a permanent neighborhood with several Tiny Houses. These houses are designed by the residents themselves and are built and delivered by Tiny Eco Home.
There was no possibility yet for the private market to view homes in the Netherlands, which is a requirement when you buy a home, the duo believes. Now the showroom is ready and open to potential customers six days a week from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Rene: ‘Come and see and feel! Our goal is to deliver the highest possible quality home at an acceptable price, built as sustainably as possible. We would like to get to know you and inform you further about the possibilities.’
